Heidenreich Launches Petition Drive to Put New “Missouri 99 Party” on the Ballot
Independent congressional candidate aims to collect 20,000 signatures — double the state requirement — to qualify a new party in Missouri.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Alexander J. S. Heidenreich, the Independent candidate for U.S. Congress in Missouri’s 7th District, announced today the launch of a statewide petition drive to establish a new political party in Missouri: the Missouri 99 Party.
Missouri law requires a new party to submit at least 10,000 valid signatures from registered voters to earn a place on the ballot. The Heidenreich campaign says it is targeting 20,000 signatures to leave no doubt.
“The two parties have failed the 99 percent,” Heidenreich said. “So we’re building something new — from the ground up, one signature at a time. Not left. Not right. Forward.”
The party grows out of Heidenreich’s “I’m for the 99” movement and his 2028 independent campaign for Congress. Its platform centers on the campaign’s anti-corruption agenda: term limits for Congress, an end to congressional insider trading, cutting and capping congressional pay, ending lobbyist influence, and ending big-business campaign donations.
“They’ll tell you it can’t be done,” Heidenreich said. “They told me a cab driver couldn’t run for Congress, too.”
